I have to start this blog off with saying I’ve not yet seen the new Lightyear film (even though I’m a massive Disney fan and dying to) but it just seemed so apt a name for this blog, given the recent new Disney movie release and the fact I’m about to talk about a new promotional product that the 4Couture team are absolutely in love with – the Tree Free Infinity Pencil!

Yep you read that correctly and now more than ever we’re being asked to source eco-friendly / recycled garments and merchandise, so this is a new branded merchandise item that has definitely caught our eye. So much so, that we’ve decided to run a limited batch of our very own 4Couture infinity pencils (keep your eye out as we might be popping a few surprises in outgoing deliveries as we’re so keen to spread the tree-free LOVE!)

This bamboo pencil looks and writes like a standard pencil design, however traditional styles can only write up to around 200 metres, whereas this bad boy has a ‘never ending’ graphite tip which can write up to 20,000 metres (that’s going to be one sore hand lol). The graphite tip markings can be rubbed out just like a normal pencil but the tip wears down so slowly that it will outlast up to 100 traditional pencils and no sharpener is required – result! It almost sounds like we’re trying to sell ourselves short of a merchandise job with this infinity pencil, given its long shelf life – however we truly believe that it’s such a durable choice for an event giveaway/desktop item and meeting tool with the massive bonus that no trees have had to be cut down to produce it.

The branding method on this natural piece is in the form of engraving, which means due to the bamboo barrel, each pencil will be slightly different in appearance to one another, as varying shades of the material creates interesting and unique engraving results. The pencil also comes with a handy lid to help protect the graphite tip for a longer lasting life, making it feel more like a staple item that you’ll be wanting to keep on your desk as long as you might keep your favourite pen. This new addition to the writing industry means we’re super confident that we can provide an all round eco-friendly solution to all industries but as an example think of trade show giveaways; you can opt to dress your event staff in a fully recycled uniform consisting of polo shirts made from 10 water bottles up to softshell jackets made from 50 plastic bottles, or how about suits that are made from water bottles and recycled fabrics too! You may also choose to hand out ‘green’ giveaway shopper bags which contain sustainable merchandise items such as bamboo notebooks, vegetable based plastic tumblers (yep!) to name a few and now introducing the super lightweight infinity pencil – there’s no excuse for a consumer to turn down the freebie gift bag because it’s ‘too heavy’ to walk around the show with. What about a competition on the stand to see who’s pen runs down the fastest? As I’m writing this, I think we might host our own 4C in house competition – let’s see who really does all the hard work 😉

On a more regular basis, we’re finding that the need for evidence of sustainability when businesses are purchasing corporate wardrobe and merchandise is becoming a hot topic for many of our client sectors whether that’s in hospitality, technology or events – sustainability officers must be busier than ever before but that is what we LOVE to hear and we’re always super keen to delight when being able to offer the most environmentally friendly choices. In years gone by, it was assumed that the more ‘green’ the choice, the higher the price – and to be honest by some degree this was absolutely true but not anymore. We can definitely source and produce climate friendly products with a much wider range of choice ranging from all different budgets – to give you an idea this Infinity pencil comes out at around the same price point as one of our most budget friendly pens – but let’s face it, we know which one is going to run out quicker!

If you’ve worked with us before then you might know that we’re obsessive with detail across all aspects, so this does mean that when you place an order with us, we will individually check the quality of each promotional item or garment we produce, ensuring that any articles which don’t meet our 4C quality standards will be rejected and re-produced without any hiccup to the client, so you will only receive the top notch products upon delivery. This means that we’re physically very close to seeing all of the latest products and you will often hear an ‘oooo’ or an ‘ahhh’ from a 4Couture studio team member if they like the look of a product that we’re processing. HOWEVER – the reaction to the Infinity was like none before, everyone has raced to nab their own one because we’re all so sold by the gimmick that it’s an infinite gadget and ‘will it really not need sharpening?!’ So, I think if we’ve had this reaction from us internally who get to see different products on a daily basis, then this mean’s we’re defo onto a winner and I for one can’t wait to start using my new desktop Tree Free Toy! 😊
